Hi!!!! My name is Teddy!

THIS is Teddy!
Hello! My name is Teddy! I am a 4 month old white marked ferret.  My birthday is January 29, 2012.  I weigh around 2 pounds but mommy calls me "chubs" :D

I live with my mommy and daddy in our little gray house.  Inside our house I have a huge cage that my mommy and daddy bought me and I love it!

I have a hammock and a sleeping bag in my cage and they are very soft and comfortable.  I spend my days hanging out in my cage while mommy sleeps after work.  Nights are spent running around the living room playing with my bell balls, chew rope and plastic rollie tube.  I also like to wrestle with my daddy and sneak around trying to scare mommy and daddy by jumping out from under the couch!

My daddy told me I was born in upstate New York on the Marshall farm where they raise ferrets.  After I was big enough they sent me to a pet store to live with other ferrets and to wait for someone to take me home.  I remember the day that my mommy and daddy came into the store.  Mommy came over to the cage and started talking to me and waving at me.  I went over to the wall of the cage because I wanted to get a better look at her.  They walked away and I started to eat because I was hungry.  A little while later my mommy came back and told my daddy that she wanted to see me.  The pet store man came over and opened the cage and picked me up.  I heard daddy talking to the pet store man about me and then mommy said she wanted me.  Daddy said the cage wasn't set up yet but mommy said she didn't care.  She said I was the one.  The pet store man took me from daddy and put me in a small cardboard box.  I was scared!  I wanted to go back to my big cage!

Daddy opened the top of the box and it was very bright out.  We weren't in the store anymore!  Mommy said we were in the car and they were taking me home!  I was scared again but they were very nice...talking to me and petting me.  When we got home they closed the box and left me in it for awhile.  I tried to get out but I couldn't.  I guess I'm still too small!  Later on daddy took me out of the box and put me in the sink to give me a bath.  I didn't like that too much so I played with the drain cover in the sink and then tried to get away from them when they took me out of the sink because I was cold!!

After I was dried off they put me in the living room with some toys.  I didn't want the toys but I did want to look around and see where I was.  I ran around for a little bit and explored.  The cage they put me in after it got dark was nice but I didn't like it because it was too small.  I heard Daddy say that I would be getting a new cage in the morning so I settled down and went to sleep.

The next day we went to the pet store (I went too in my new carrier!) and got me a new cage.  Daddy calls it my mansion!  It's HUGE!!  4 floors, a hammock, sleeping bag, 3 ramps, 2 potties, food dish and water bottle.  I have tons of toys too!  One of them is a ball that makes noises.  It dooks and meows and says doo doo doo doo doo!  My favorite toy is the one on the stick that has hair on it.
Mommy says I have to go to bed now so I will write more again another time.  I will have mommy put some more pictures of me so you can see how little and cute I am!  She says I have a whole album on her facebook page (she always has the camera in my face!).  Goodnight!!

vegetarian

yes you heard right folks! I have now decided to become a vegetarian! Why, you ask? Well for one thing it has become quite apparent to me that I feel sick whenever I eat meat. I had given up on beef awhile ago and was never interested in fish (eeww) The only meat i was really into eating was chicken. That usually consisted of the fried variety (which isn't good for me) so I have decided to give that up too.
So I had my last bit of meat this morning which consisted of some really gross bacon which made up my mind for me about changing my lifestyle. This should prove to be interesting, if not difficult for me, considering I have been eating meat for as long as I can remember.
I prepared my lunch for tomorrow already (veggie soup and fruit salad) and I have my breakfast all set too (yogurt and a cereal bar with some OJ). I will be writing about my experience as often as I remember (and have something to say about the whole thing).
For now, Angus and Midnight will remain carnivores (at 11 years old Midnight is very set in her ways about eating...who ever heard of vegetarian cat food anyway?!)

So much going on

If I actually sat down and blogged at least once a week like I would like to then I'd be a happier person. Last time I posted was last month! Lame...I know...Well I guess I should update on the last month or so then....

So far so good....haven't fallen down yet this month....not so the last 2 years....

I've been a AEMT-CC for a year as of July 31st! (Still trying to figure out where I fit in and how to use my skills to help and not just waste the patient's time) But as with anything else it takes time....I didn't get comfortable with my basic skills until I was a tech for 2 or 3 years. So I guess by the time I am ready for my refresher I should be ok!

August 10th, 2010 was Midnight and Lola's 11th Birthday!  Can't believe the fur babies are 11 already!  Happy Birthday girls!!

Unfortunately August 26th was the 14th anniversary of Gram's passing....I know she is keeping an eye on me and she reminds me that she is still around every once in awhile.  :)  Thanks for still being there in spirit Gram....I love you and miss you so much.

That brings me to the end of the month!  This past Saturday the 28th we had Sooie and James' engagement party at the LVFD!  What a great time and it was fabulous meeting his family!

Well I think I hit all the major stuff for the month.  I am going to try really hard to blog at least once a week from now on....we'll see how THAT goes....

signing off.....for now...... :)

things you find in the jungleyard....

On Sunday  Dad, and I began work on clearing the jungleyard from the back most part of our acreage here in the valley.  I kid you not....it was a jungle.....we haven't used the backyard in any sort of capacity in 15 years or so....it was a little overgrown.  as we were working we kept finding things.....yes....FINDING things.  buried under years of wild bushes, thorn bushes and mayhem (i hate thorn bushes).  so for my own amusement i kept a running list of what we unearthed....here it is:

things you find in the jungleyard: a list

1. empty plastic water bottle
2. LARGE chunk of asphalt
3. chicken wire buried in dirt
4. one 2x4
5. empty bag of doritos
6. two baseballs
7. half full plastic water bottle
8. rotted wood
9. half of a plastic bucket
10. what once was a red rubber ball
11. a fork
12. unidentified plastic object
13. many many miles of thorn vines
14. a wrapper for something
15. the yard cart
16. rusted metal thingie
17. lots of holes in the ground
18. rotted fence post

welcome to the jungleyard......to be continued.....

What urbandictionary.com has to say about me.....

Well I was bored today....what a surprise!

I was on facebook just before and I noticed a few of my friends had searched their names on www.urbandictionary.com and posted the results in their statuses (if that is even a word)

So I figured WHY THE HELL NOT!

"Meredith" as defined by www.urbandictionary.com

Meredith is another name for a cool, mellow girl. She can go with the flow, but if things get extreme, she can deal with it. She's funny when she wants to be, and can adapt to a variety of personalities. This brand of girl is usually found in the south, but you could find her anywhere. Oh yeah, and she's lactose intolerant.

****************************************************************************
Kind of funny considering the source.....and for those of you wondering....I'm NOT lactose intolerant!
****************************************************************************

According to a plaque that I have that explains my name origins"

Meredith is a Celtic/Welsh name which was originally used as a male name but now is primarily a female name. It means "Guardian of the Sea"

I like my name.....my Grandma Barbara picked it out....my parents wanted to name me Kimberly and my Grandma told them that she couldn't imagine a 90 year old woman in a nursing home being called Kim! So hence I am Meredith!

I can't imagine a 90 year old woman in a nursing home being called Meri...but she DID have a bit of a point..... :) She only lived to be 73 and everyone called her Bobbie....at least she didn't end up in a nursing home!

Love ya and miss ya Gram....I know you are keeping an eye on me from the next world :) Oh...and thanks for the kick ass name!

a little "how to"....

Despite my observations that some people blog about absolute nonsense and my commitment is to avoid doing that I decided to do just that today because I felt like it.

I was looking for something completely unrelated I came across www.wikihow.com in a google search....where they have such completely ridiculous topics as:

*HOW TO GOOF OFF AT WORK : www.wikihow.com/Goof-off-at-Work#Warnings

*HOW TO MAKE THE WEEKEND SEEM LONGER: www.wikihow.com/Make-the-Weekend-Seem-Longer

*HOW TO CHOSE A GRAFFITI NAME: www.wikihow.com/Choose-a-Graffiti-Name

*HOW TO BREAK UP WITH AN ATTORNEY: www.wikihow.com/Break-up-With-an-Attorney

*HOW TO CELEBRATE ODD SOCK DAY: www.wikihow.com/Celebrate-Odd-Sock-Day

*HOW TO GET MORE CANDY AT A PARADE: www.wikihow.com/Get-More-Candy-at-a-Parade

AND MY FAVORITE....

*HOW TO ENJOY PUBLIC SLEEPING DAY: www.wikihow.com/Enjoy-Public-Sleeping-Day

I'm SERIOUSLY beginning to wonder if people actually have lives or they write this stuff cause they are bored....can't say much for the person who seeks this out and writes it in her blog either.....

Fan

I've always been a fan of online graphics, pictures, HTML and codes....now I have my own barcode

Today happens to be the 57th anniversary of the invention of the barcode (and all the mystery and myths that came with them)
Google brought that to my attention...

My obsession with graphics continues every year as we get closer to Halloween....I scour photobucket to see what new stuff I can find this year (because ya know this is my FAVORITE season and my FAVORITE holiday)......

First search I find this:

Drunk pumpkins are always my favorite:
Funny Pumpkins Pictures, Images and Photos

There are some pretty clever people out there!

My favorite by far are always the autumn fairies....
here are a few of them:
